Curb Appeal Seattle Style
To compete in the home staging market, you must draw buyers into the property. For this to happen, the home must have some curb appeal. Many locations throughout the U.S. have an easy task, just put out some potted plants along the entrance walk! For Seattle, the task becomes more involved, especially during the winter months when grey days with light rain or mist are the norm. Here, creativity and proper landscaping and lighting will do the trick. Use living trees, planted or in pots to lead to the entrance. Illuminating the walkway and the door space will draw clients in and give a welcoming feel. Use automatic timers, or a photo cell timer that will switch on as darkness descends. A fresh, clean doormat both inside and outside the front door protects floors, cleans shoes and easily creates that sense of home. Many Seattlites make the mistake of overdoing forest and wilderness aspects in landscaping. There’s a problem if no one can see beyond the trees or if the house is hidden in grasses and foliage. Clear nearby foliage, open up plantings around the house & use windows to let the sunshine in and the interior glow shine out. An excellent staging credo is “If they can see it, they will come.” These few steps will assure that the home stager has fulfilled the a primary requirement, bring the buyer inside!

What is an ASPM

Before staging, this living room seems dark and dated.

Once staged, the room is fresh and inviting!

Staging can help interpret a room. Here, a mid-century tone gives the space modern flair.

Even a twelve-sided treehouse benefits. The placement of furnishings emphasizes the view and defines the room spaces!
