Staged Property Comments & Details:
On our previous trip to our clients home we "Staged it for Living and Working". She was so please with what we did to her living and dining area which she used as her studio and office, that she asked us to come back and do her family room. We had removed her large TV and sofa out of her studio area to her family room. She wanted us to work with those furniture pieces and the rest was up to us, with one exception. She said she was a horse owner and loved horses, so she asked us if we could Stage her Family Room with a Horse Theme. She had so many horse pictures, and accessories put away for a very long time and she longed to have them where she could look at them.
We got started by finding the proper furniture arrangement for the room, this left us with a bit of a challenge. This was a small room, and we were working with a very large TV and large sofa with a chaise lounge and ottomon. We started off with the TV and then worked with the sofa and ottoman. We were thinking of using the ottoman as a coffee table but it blocked off the firepace so we chose to use the ottoman as a chair with pillows on it, along a wall. So once the space planning was completed we went to work on the art work and accessories.
This house had such a warm, cozy, rustic, ranch feel, so this theme really fit the home. Our client bought in all her horse memorabilia for us to use and each item had such a great story with it. All of which had been packed away for so long because there wasn't a designated place for it.
When we had completed the project you can imagine the thrill it was for her to see all the things she treasured in one room. She was really overwhelmed. We had put up pictures of her late father that she could not find a place for in her home and she was so pleased. We even found a place for her saddle on an old rustic step ladder.
