When we want to work with builders - the first step is to find out what builders are in our market - and then make a plan to get in front of them.
Some builders are interested in having us present at their new home communities - as a featured draw - a speaker that talks about Home Staging. They will often promote US - for free - and this is GREAT exposure for our businesses and Home Staging!
You can offer to Stage an inventory house for this event - and also talk to them about helping buyers for their new homes SELL thier existing homes using Staging! This is a way for us to get MORE business and help the builder at the same time. Some builders will cover the payment for the Staging services for these buyers - which is far less than having to toss additional upgrades and options at them.
Let the Builders know what you can do for them - and how you can help them, and then follow-up!
I have talked to the builder of my house and have told him about the advantages of staging too. He already stages his model homes and sees how they help to sell his properties. He has told me he could have all his houses sold if the buyers were able to sell their current homes. I think I will offer him a discount for his clients and offer to stage his next model so he can see my work.
I am staging 2 houses next week for a builder and he said he could tell from my enthusiasm how much I want to help him in selling his vacant houses. I LOVE MY JOB! - Kim
