I'm a Realtor, so I've got 2 tips. Open Houses, go visit them, find a Realtor you click with, even if you have to visit several Open Houses. I loved Open Houses before I ever became a Realtor. Point out some ideas to the Realtor at the Open and have them tell the owner, and of course, leave your biz card. Realtor Tour - We have them weekly. Sometimes we will have a speaker before we tour, (Appraiser, Mortgager, Home Inspector) call the broker, see if you can give a 15 min. talk about staging. Bring extra biz cards, so Realtor's can pass them to sellers. See what Realtor's chat with you after the meeting is over. Don't forget to bring food, the true way to a Realtor's heart is through their stomach.
I have a number of friends who are realtors. I've asked them about doing a brief staging presentation at one of their staff meetings. They all gave me names of who to contact. I called, left messages, leaving the realtors name who suggested I call. I havent gotten a call back from ANYONE::((((
Any suggestions on how to get your foot in the door?
Yes, I just finished setting up having a Stager come to the office and give her presentation. I phyically took her in the office and she met several of the Realtors'. She also met the managing broker, who is happy to have her come. We figured out where she could set up her powerpoint presentation, elec. outlets, she's bringing a card table to set the projector on...etc. If you have friends who are Realtor's ask them to set up a meeting with the managing broker. Call during business hours and ask to speak to the managing broker. Set a meeting, bring your Staging book. You've got to sell yourself, if your friends are Realtor's surely they can help you instead of just getting a name.
Does anyone have a suggestion for promotions for realtors? For example, would a % off staging fee discount or a "buy 2 get 1 free" appeal to the realtors?? I am a new ASP and I had a new realtor contact me and wanted to know if we could work something out.
I have exclusives with three realtors. I got in the door by dropping by, bringing the receptionist a small gift. I left a marketing packet and asked her when the best time to speak with the managing broker would be. She set up an appt for me, gave him the packet and he agreed to meet with me. I called to confirm the day before and he liked that. I told him I would take 5 minutes of his time and stayed over an hour. He introduced me to all his agents. Now they have me do a consult with every new listing and they pay for that. If the homeowner wants more than that they pay the difference. I do give the office a lower, guaranteed price and in turn they guarantee payment if I have a probem with the homeowner. Dont overlook the receptionist.

I would suggest discounting them if they use you with their clients.
And give them preferencial treatment.
You may want to consider giving them 2 of the Cruise tickets we can get at a discout after they use you at least 5 times.
Just a thought.
